Are you experiencing difficulty pairing your Schlage Sense Pro™ to your Wi-Fi network? This issue is often caused by an unsupported Wi-Fi password format, and the lock provides visual and audible feedback to confirm the problem.
How to Confirm the Issue
When attempting to pair your Schlage Sense Pro™ to Wi-Fi, the lock’s touchpad will flash red three times, accompanied by three beeps. This indicates that the lock was unable to connect to the network due to a problem with the Wi-Fi password or other network-related settings.
Common Causes of Wi-Fi Pairing Errors
Wi-Fi Password Length
- The maximum password length supported by the Schlage Sense Pro™ is 24 characters.
- Passwords exceeding this limit will cause pairing errors.
Unrecognized Special Characters
- Certain special characters (e.g., $ and &) are not recognized by the Schlage Home App.
- Including these characters in your password will prevent successful pairing.
Spaces in the Password
- A space in the Wi-Fi password will result in a commissioning error.
Wi-Fi Security Type is not Supported
- The Schlage Sense Pro™ does not support WEP or WPA1 security types.
- WPA2 and WPA3 are both supported security types.
Solution:
To resolve the issue, update your Wi-Fi password to meet the following requirements:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi security type is supported.
- Ensure the password is 24 characters or fewer.
- Avoid using unsupported special characters such as $ or &.
- Remove any spaces from the password.
