Managing user codes on your Schlage Encode Lock is a straightforward process.
To view interactive instructions, click here.
Keep in mind that if the Encode lock is paired with the Schlage Home app, all programming must be done through the app, as pairing the lock with the app deletes the programming code. It is recommended to manage your codes within the app for a more streamlined and efficient experience.
Note: Manual programming will not work if the lock is already paired with the Schlage Home app. Pairing the lock with the app deletes the Programming Code, so all code management must be done through the app.
Follow these detailed instructions to add or delete user codes manually:
-
Enter the Programming Code:
Begin by entering your 6-digit Programming Code on the lock's keypad. This code is necessary to access the programming mode of your lock. If you don’t know your Programming Code, refer to the documentation that came with your lock. -
Enter the User Code:
Once the Programming Code is accepted, enter the user code you wish to add or delete. Ensure that the user code is between 4 to 8 digits long and unique from any existing codes. -
Choose and Press the Option:
To add the user code, press the "Add" button (represented by a house icon with a check mark).
To delete the user code, press the "Delete" button (represented by a lock icon with an X). -
Confirm by Entering the Code Again:
Re-enter the user code you are adding or deleting to confirm the action. This step ensures that the code is entered correctly and helps prevent errors. -
Exit Programming Mode:
Finally, press the House icon to exit programming mode.
This step will save your changes and return the lock to its regular operational state.
By following these steps, you can efficiently manage who has access to your home through your Schlage Encode Lock. Remember, for a more seamless and integrated experience, consider using the Schlage Home app to manage user codes and other lock settings.
