Changing a Faceplate

Most Schlage locks include 2–3 interchangeable faceplates so you can choose the best fit for your door. Changing them is simple.

You only need a flathead screwdriver.
 

To Change a Faceplate:

1. Locate the notch on the faceplate.
2. Place the flathead screwdriver into the notch.
3. Use the screwdriver to pry to the plate off.
4. Repeat steps 2-3 for the second notch.
   
   

5. Twist and pull  the plate to remove the faceplate.
    

   • Square Edge Faceplate proceed to step 6.
   • Circular Drive-in Plate: Remove the support plate.

   

To Install a Faceplate:
 

1. Align the desired faceplate with the tabs on the latch.
    
2. Place the faceplate onto the latch.
   
   
3. Twist to secure the plate.
   (For Square Edge Faceplate, crimp the support plate to the faceplate)
