How to Create and Share a Virtual Key in the Schlage Home App

Before a person can receive a virtual key, they must first be signed into their own Schlage Home App Account on their phone. This guide walks you through the simple steps to create and share a virtual key using the Schlage Home App. Learn how to navigate to the appropriate lock, manage access settings, and assign virtual keys to individuals. You'll also discover how to set the access level, choosing between Admin and Guest permissions, to ensure the right level of control for each user. Share access to your locks securely and effortlessly with this easy-to-follow process.

To Create and Share a Virtual Key:

• Navigate to the Lock you'd like to share access to:
• If the lock is associated with a Home:
  Tap on the name of the Home to view all locks within the home.
• If the lock is not associated with a Home:
  Scroll to "Unassociated Locks."
• Tap the three dots to the right of the lock name to open the lock menu.
• Tap "Manage Access."
• Press Virtual Keys
• Press the (+) on the top right corner of the screen
• Enter the "Virtual Key Name"
  This is typically the name of the person you are sharing the key with
• Select "Access Level"
  Admin: All functions except for delete the lock
  Guest: Lock and unlock only

Note:

If the recipient is not receiving the Virtual Key, you can navigate back to the Virtual Keys page, delete the Virtual Key, and repeat the above steps.

To delete the Virtual Key:

Swipe right on the Virtual Key name then tap “Delete”.

If an iPhone user is having trouble opening a Virtual Key:

Ensure the pop up blocker is turned off in Safari. It will prevent the link from opening the new lock in the recipients phone.
