Schlage Encode locks are designed to fit standard residential doors that fit these measurement ranges:

First, confirm your deadbolt latch backset length is adjusted correctly to allow your tailpiece to insert correctly. This video helps demonstrate how to adjust and confirm proper alignment.

If the trouble is not with your tailpiece fitting into the deadbolt properly, you should then confirm the measurement of your crossbore hole. If the bore hole measures 1-1/2in (38 mm), you will need to remove the hole adapter. This video helps demonstrate how to remove the adapter.
