Each lock in the Encode Series—the Encode, Encode Plus, and Encode Lever—is equipped with both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities. Additionally, the Encode Plus offers Apple HomeKit integration for enhanced smart home compatibility.
Requirements for Remote Control
To control your Schlage Encode lock remotely, you will need:
- A Schlage Encode Smart Lock that is:
- Paired to the Schlage Home app
- Connected to your home/local Wi-Fi network
- Powered with four AA batteries
- Paired to Apple HomeKit for Encode Plus model exclusively
Note: To remotely manage your Schlage Encode Plus Smart Lock using the Apple Home app exclusively, you will need an Apple Home Pod or alternate Apple Hub.
- A Smartphone that has:
- The Schlage Home app installed
- An active internet connection via cellular or Wi-Fi
Pairing the Lock to Your Phone:
Important: Without pairing the lock at its physical location, remote control capabilities cannot be activated.
