How to Enable Express Mode

Apple Home Keys offers a convenient way to unlock your Encode Plus, similar to using Apple Pay. You can either authenticate by double-tapping the lock button on your iPhone and using a passcode or FaceID, or you can enable Express Mode for seamless access without unlocking your device.

What is Express Mode?

Express Mode allows you to use your Apple home keys without needing to unlock your iPhone or Apple Watch. Simply hold your device near the lock’s keypad target to open the lock instantly. This feature enhances convenience, especially when you're in a hurry or have your hands full.

Setting Up Express Mode

When you set up your lock in the Apple Home app, you'll have the option to enable Express Mode. This feature can be adjusted at any time through the Wallet app settings for your home key, allowing you to manage it by device. For example, you can enable Express Mode on your Apple Watch while opting not to enable it on your iPhone.

How to Enable Express Mode

Enable/Disable: You can toggle Express Mode on or off in the Wallet app settings for each device.
Device-Specific Settings: Tailor Express Mode settings for individual devices, such as enabling it on your Apple Watch but not on your iPhone.

Important: To Use Express Mode on more than one device an Apple Hub is required
