How to Illuminate the Keypad on Schlage Locks

Illuminating the keypad on your Schlage lock allows you to easily see and enter your access code in low-light conditions. The method to light up the keypad varies depending on the lock model.

How to Illuminate the Keypad

• For Most Schlage Locks: Press the Schlage logo located at the top of the keypad to activate the backlight.
  Models: Schlage Keypad Locks (BE465, FE595, FE575), Schlage Touch Locks (BE375, FE659), and Schlage Connect Smart Deadbolt (BE469ZP).
• For Schlage Encode Series and the Schlage Arrive: Press the Home Icon located on the bottom-left corner of the keypad to light it up.
  Models: The Schlage Arrive (BE459) and the Schlage Encode Series (BE489, BE499, and FE789)
• For Dexter by Schlage (J Series): Depending on your model, you may see a Home Icon or three horizontal lines above the keypad. Press this icon to illuminate the keypad.
  Models: JDE265, JBE109, JFE109
