Schlage smart locks do not feature an automatic unlock by proximity functionality. However, the Schlage Encode Plus™ Smart Wi-Fi Deadbolt offers Apple Home Key integration, which provides a convenient way to unlock the door with your iPhone or Apple Watch.

Apple Home Keys and Express Mode

1. Apple Home Keys

• With an Apple Home Key, you can unlock the Schlage Encode Plus by simply tapping your iPhone or Apple Watch to the lock.
• After tapping, you’ll use Face ID, Touch ID, or enter your device passcode to complete the unlocking process for added security.
   

2. Express Mode

• When Express Mode is enabled, you can bypass the additional unlocking step (Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode).
• This allows the lock to open immediately upon tapping your device to the lock, streamlining the process while maintaining security.
