The Schlage Sense - BE479, Discontinued is compatible with both the Schlage Home App and Apple HomeKit. Please keep in mind you can only pair the lock to one or the other, and not both. To achieve remote control via HomeKit, an Apple hub is required. Please follow the steps below to pair the BE479, Discontinued with Apple HomeKit.
Before You Begin:
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
- Verify that your lock is the Schlage Sense (model BE479-Discontinued)
To Pair the BE479, Discontinued to Apple HomeKit
The Schlage Home app provides an interactive step-by-step process for pairing your lock. To ensure a seamless setup experience, it's recommended to start with the app. |
- Launch the Schlage Home App.
- Press the + icon on the bottom right corner of the app.
- There will be a pop-up "Add Your Lock to a Home?
Select "Just Add Lock"
Attention: Locks already associated with a Home cannot be added to HomeKit. Enter the Lock Name
Typically the lock name corresponds to the door it is installed on, for example: Front Door. - Press "Continue".
- Press "My lock looks different" at the bottom of the screen.
- Select "Schlage Sense".
- The app will confirm that you have a Schlage Sense and ask if your lock is already installed:
If it is not, press "No, show installation steps" and follow the provided steps.
If the lock is installed, select "Yes, lock is installed" to skip the installation instructions. - Select "Set up with HomeKit".
- Select or add the Home you'd like to add this lock to.
- Select the lock you like to pair.
- Locate the Apple Home Setup Code on the User Guide or lock assembly, then press "Continue".
- Point the camera to Scan the Setup Code.
Select the lock you are trying to add.
Attention: If scan fails, continue to next step. - Enter the Home Setup Code when prompted, and press "Continue".
- Allow HomeKit to pair to the lock.
- Select Lock Location, and press "Continue".
- Enter the Lock Name, and press "Continue"
- Press "Done".
Assign the lock an Access Code.
All of the default and any added codes have been deleted upon pairing the lock. Name the Code.
Typically, the lock name corresponds to the door it is installed on, for example, 'Front Door.' - Press "Continue".
- Open your door slightly, then tap "I'm Ready"
The lock will automatically configure itself for your door.
