How to Manually Program the Schlage Sense (BE479)

The Schlage Sense (BE479, Discontinued) is a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi compatible lock that is best programmed through the Schlage Home app. Please note that once the lock is paired with the Schlage Home app, the programming code is deleted. If you need to manually reprogram the lock after pairing, you must first perform a factory reset.

Temporarily Disable Auto-Lock:

To Add a Code:

1. Press the Schlage Icon.
2. Enter the 6-digit Programming Code. 
   Programming indicator light blinks.
3. Press 1. 
   The keypad will display a Green checkmark.
4. Enter a new user code (4-8 digits).
   The keypad will display a Green checkmark.
5. Enter the same new user code a second time.
   If successful you'll see two Green Checkmarks and hear two beeps.
6. To add more codes, repeat steps 4-5.
7. To exit programming mode, press the Schlage Icon. 

To Change User Code Length:

Warning!
Changing the access code length will delete all existing access codes!

1. Press the Schlage icon.
2. Enter Programming Code. 
   Programming indicator light blinks.
3. Press 8. Green checkmark.
4. Enter desired access code length (numbers 4 - 8). 
   The keypad will display a Green checkmark.
5. Enter same desired access code length. 
   Success is indicated by 2 blinks + 2 beeps
    

To Delete a Code:

1. Press the Schlage Icon.
2. Enter the 6-digit Programming Code. 
   Programming indicator light blinks.
3. Press 2. 
   The keypad will display a Green checkmark.
4. Enter the user code (4-8 digits) you wish to delete.
   The keypad will display a Green checkmark.
5. Enter same user code a second time.
   If successful you'll see two Green Checkmarks and hear two beeps.
6. To add delete more codes, repeat steps 4-5.
7. To exit programming mode, press the Schlage Icon. 

To Change the Programming Code:

1. Press the Schlage Icon.
2. Enter Programming Code. 
   Programming indicator light blinks.
3. Press 3.
   The keypad will display a Green checkmark.
4. Enter new Programming Code.
   The keypad will display a Green checkmark.
5. Enter same new Programming Code. 
   Success is indicated by 2 blinks + 2 beeps.

How to Enable/Disable the Keypad Beeper:

1. Press the Schlage icon.
2. Enter Programming Code. 
   Programming indicator light blinks.
3. Press 5. 
   The keypad will display a Green checkmark.
4. Enable: 1 blink + 1 beep.
5. Disable: 2 blinks + 2 beeps.

How to Enable/Disable One-Touch Locking:

• When enabled: Press the Outside Schlage Button to lock the deadbolt. (Default setting).
• When disabled: Press the Outside Schlage Button and then enter an access code to lock the deadbolt.

1. Press the Schlage icon.
2. Enter Programming Code.
   Programming indicator light blinks.
3. Press 7.
   Success! 2 blinks + 2 beeps.

How to Enable/Disable Auto-Lock:

• When enabled, the lock will automatically relock 30 seconds after unlocking. (Disabled by default).

 

1. Press the Schlage icon.
2. Enter Programming Code. 
   Programming indicator light blinks.
3. Press 9. 
   Success! 2 blinks + 2 beeps.

Temporarily Disable Auto-Lock:

• Auto-Lock must already be enabled.

1. Press the  Schlage Icon.
2. Enter User Code.
3. Within 5 seconds, manually lock and unlock the deadbolt using the thumb-turn. 
   Green checkmark, 1 blink + 1 beep.

Restore Auto-Lock

Just relock the deadbolt using the thumb-turn. 
Green checkmark, 2 blinks + 2 beeps
