Can Schlage Locks Get Wet?

Schlage Residential Electronic and Smart Locks are designed to withstand normal wear and tear caused by exposure to the elements on the exterior side of the lock (e.g., a lock installed on a front door or garage door). Rain and moisture are acceptable as long as they do not reach the interior side of the lock.

However, the interior components of the lock are not intended to endure direct exposure to the elements. Installing the lock on a gate or in an uninsulated building, such as a barn or shed, will void the warranty.
