If you have a Schlage Sense - BE479, Discontinued paired to Wi-Fi via the Schlage Home app and the Schlage Sense Wi-Fi Adapter - BR400, Discontinued and are experiencing Wi-Fi connection issues, please follow the steps below.
The issue is most commonly caused by a connection problem within the BR400. Fortunately, there are a few workarounds to help resolve this issue.
1. Soft Reset the BR400
The first troubleshooting step we recommend is to perform a soft reset on the Wi-Fi adapter.
- With the Wi-Fi Adapter Plugged in:
- Press and hold the reset button for 5-6 seconds.
- Let go.
- Force close the Schlage Home App.
- Re-open the Schlage Home App.
If this does not restore your Wi-Fi Connection, there are a few more work arounds:
2. Uninstall and Reinstall the Schlage Home App
- Uninstall the app from your smartphone.
- Turn off your phone to clear temporary data.
- Reinstall the Schlage Home App from your device's app store.
3. If Necessary Split Networks
If you have a dual-band network, separate the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks to ensure compatibility.
- Disable the auto-join feature on the 5 GHz network to maintain a stable connection with the 2.4 GHz network.
This can be accomplished through your ISP app or by calling your Internet Provider. |
4. Optimize Adapter Placement
- Relocate the Wi-Fi adapter to an outlet near your router to improve signal strength and connectivity.
If connection issues persist, please Submit a Request to contact Customer Care.
