Schlage Sense: Pair to the Schlage Home App

The Schlage Sense - BE479, Discontinued is compatible with the Schlage Home app via both Bluetooth. The Schlage Sense is also compatible with Wi-Fi via the Schlage Sense Wi-Fi Adapter - BR400, Discontinued. A Wi-Fi connection is not required to pair the lock to the Schlage Home app. 

Before You Begin:

• Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
• Verify that your lock is the Schlage Sense - BE479, Discontinued.

To Pair the Schlage Sense to the Schlage Home App

The Schlage Home app provides an interactive step-by-step process for pairing your lock. To ensure a seamless setup experience, it's recommended to start with the app.

1. Launch the Schlage Home App
2. Press the + icon on the bottom right corner.
3. There will be a pop-up "Add Your Lock to a Home?
4. To add your lock to a Home, tap "Yes".

5. Select the Home you would like to add your lock to, and tap "continue".
    

   If you would prefer to add the lock without a Home, tap "Just Add Lock".

6. Select or add the Entryway you would like to add your lock to.
7. Press Continue.

8. Enter the Lock Name
    

   Typically the lock name corresponds to the door it is installed on, for example: Front Door. 

9. Press "Continue".
10. Press "My lock looks different" at the bottom of the screen.
     
11. Select "Schlage Sense" (Top option).
12. The app will confirm that you have a Schlage Sense and ask if your lock is already installed:
    If it is not, press "No, show installation steps" and follow the provided steps.
    If the lock is installed, select "Yes, lock is installed" to skip the installation instructions.
13. For "Lock Mode" select "Set up with Schlage System".
14. Locate your Programming Code, and press "Continue".
15. On the lock's keypad: Press the Schlage logo.
16. Type in your 6 digit Programming Code.
17. Press 0.
18. Please wait while your device and lock complete the pairing process. 

19. Assign your lock an Access Code.
     

    All default codes, and any added codes have been deleted in this pairing process. 

20. Name the Access Code.
21. Press "Continue".
22. Open your door slightly.
23. Tap "I'm Ready" on the app. This allows the lock to automatically configure itself to the door. The deadbolt will move 2-3 times.
24. Tap "Finish".

25. If you don't have a Wi-Fi Adapter and would prefer to pair via Bluetooth only: Press "No, I don't have a Wi-Fi Adapter. 
     

    If you have a Wi-Fi Adapter and would like to pair it now, press "Yes" and continue to next steps. 

To Pair the Schlage Sense Wi-Fi Adapter-BR400, Discontinued

If a Wi-Fi Adapter is already paired, the app will search for compatible locks. Select the lock you want to pair with the Wi-Fi Adapter.

1. Press "Add Wi-Fi Adapter"
2. Locate the Programming Code on the Wi-Fi Adapter, and press "Continue".
    
3. Point the camera to scan the QR code on the bac of the Wi-Fi adapter.
4. Plug  the Wi-Fi Adapter into an outlet, and press "Continue".
5. Press "Join" on the "Schlage Home" Wants to Join Wi-Fi Network "BR400-******" pop-up screen.
6. Allow the device/app to retrieve the Wi-Fi networks in range.
7. Select your Wireless network.
8. Enter the password for your Wi-Fi and press "Continue".
9. Allow the Wi-Fi Adapter to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
10. Enter the Wi-Fi Adapter Name, and press "Continue".
