Schlage Touch Deadbolt - BE375: Unlocking Without a Code

If your Schlage Touch Deadbolt - BE375 can be unlocked without entering a code or simply by pressing the Schlage button, it indicates that the lock was installed incorrectly. This issue is typically caused by a misaligned cam, a small internal mechanism that may have rotated improperly during installation, preventing the lock from functioning as intended. Fortunately, this problem can be easily resolved by reinstalling the lock correctly.

What You'll Need:

• Flat-head screwdriver
• Phillips-head screwdriver

Steps to Fix a Misaligned Cam

1. Ensure the bolt is in the locked position with the door slightly ajar before proceeding.
2. Remove the Battery Cover
3. Carefully unplug the wires connecting the keypad to the inside assembly.
4. Unscrew the bolts to detach the inside assembly from the door.
5. Remove the interior assembly from the door.
6. Rotate the Driver Bar Toward the Hinges: This action will retract the bolt.

7. Reattach the interior assembly to the door. Ensure the mounting bolts remain uncovered.

   If the mounting bolts are covered, the cam is still misaligned. 
   Repeat steps 1-7 to realign the cam.

8. Reconnect the Wires to the Keypad: Plug the wires back into the keypad to restore functionality.
9. Factory Reset the Lock:
   Factory Reset a Schlage Keypad or Touch Lock

Steps to Test the Lock

1. With the door open and the bolt retracted, press the Schlage logo on the outside keypad.
2. Rotate the Knob Away from the Hinges: Turn the knob to operate the deadbolt.
3. Verify the Bolt Extends: The bolt should extend into the locked position, confirming the lock was installed successfully.
