A Factory Default Reset is a common troubleshooting step. Additionally, if you lose or forget your programming code, you can restore your Schlage Keypad Lock to its factory default settings. To view interactive instructions, please click here.
This will reset the lock to its original default programming and user codes. However, proceed with caution:
Caution! DO NOT perform a factory default reset unless you have the default codes! Customer service CANNOT retrieve lost default codes.
Once you have your default codes ready, follow these instructions to reset your lock:

Disconnect the Battery
Begin by disconnecting the battery from the lock. -
Press and Release the Schlage Button
Press and release the Schlage button on the keypad 2-3 times. -
Reconnect the Battery
Within 10 seconds of pressing the Schlage button, reconnect the battery. The indicator light will light green for one second. -
Press and Hold the Schlage Button
Immediately press and hold the Schlage button until the indicator light turns green and the lock beeps.
Verification
Try entering one of the default user codes.
If the lock does not unlock, repeat the process starting from Step 2.
Schlage Keypad Lever (FE595 and FE575):
After successfully restoring the factory settings, you can personalize your lock by changing the programming code and adding new user codes.
