Conveniently use your voice to lock or unlock and check the status of your lock when you pair your Schlage Encode Plus Smart Wi-Fi Deadbolt to a compatible voice enabled device. You can also make your lock part of scenes or automations with other devices paired to your voice assistant.
Most smart home systems will require you to setup a PIN if you want to unlock by voice command.
For both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant you follow these easy steps from the Schlage Home app.
- Ensure your lock is setup to the Schlage Home app and actively connected to your home Wi-Fi network
- Ensure your voice assistant apps and accounts are setup and you know your login information if you are not already logged in to those accounts/apps on the smartphone you are using to setup your lock
- Start by selecting the menu button in the upper left corner of the Schlage Home app
- Then select Works With from the menu
- Then select the voice assistant with which you would like to pair your lock
- Tap the “Get Started” button
- You will be guided through an easy pairing process that connects our lock with your voice enabled devices and the associated accounts.
Did you know: If you are an iOS device user, you can link your Schlage Encode Plus Smart Lock to Apple HomeKit and use Apple home keys, while also linking to one of these two voice assistants. The ultimate in convenience.
Note: Your lock is connected to these Voice Assistant devices and accounts via a Wi-Fi connection, therefore, if your home Wi-Fi network is experiencing an outage you will not be able to control your lock with your voice assistant.
If you are experiencing connection issues between your voice assistant and your lock, confirming that your Wi-Fi network is active and your devices are connecting to it is the best place to start.
For Siri voice control (lock and status check) of your Schlage Encode Plus Smart Wi-Fi Deadbolt, you will need to link your Schlage Home app through Apple HomeKit to the Apple Home app:

- Select Works With from the menu
- Select Apple HomeKit
- Tap the “Get Started” button
- You will be guided through an easy pairing process that connects our lock with your Apple Home app.
Once your lock is linked to your Apple HomeKit you will be able to use Siri on your Siri-enabled devices to lock or check status of your lock, and with an Apple home hub device you can include your lock in voice activated automations too.
