Fixing a Misaligned Cam on the Schlage BE365 Deadbolt Lock

If your Schlage BE365 deadbolt lock flashes green when pressing the Schlage button but does not lock or unlock, the issue is likely due to a misaligned cam. This problem typically occurs during installation when the cam (a small internal part) rotates incorrectly, causing the lock to malfunction. Fortunately, this is easy to fix with a simple reinstallation.

Steps to Fix a Misaligned Cam

1. Open the door and extend the deadbolt: Ensure the bolt is in the locked position before proceeding.
2. Disconnect the wires from the front keypad: Carefully unplug the wires connecting the keypad to the inside assembly.
3. Remove the mounting bolts: Unscrew the bolts to detach the inside assembly from the door.
4. Rotate the driver bar toward the hinges: This action will retract the bolt.
5. Reassemble the inside assembly: Reattach the inside assembly to the door. Ensure the mounting bolts remain uncovered. If the mounting bolts are covered, the cam is still in the wrong position. Repeat the first four steps to realign the cam.
6. Reconnect the wires from the keypad: Plug the wires back into the keypad to restore functionality.
